Zygomatic implants at focus clinic

Zygomatic imp lants are specialized dental implants used in patients with very severe bone atrophy in the jaw, making it impossible to place traditional implants. In such cases, zygomatic implants are anchored in the zygomatic bone (zygoma), which is dense, strong and provides a solid support for prosthetic structures.

Zygomatic implants for special cases

Zygomatic implants are used for patients who have experienced significant bone loss in the upper jaw, which prevents the use of traditional dental implants. Such a situation can result from a long-term lack of teeth, advanced periodontal disease, mechanical trauma or the failure of previous implant procedures. In cases where bone augmentation or bone grafts prove insufficient or inadvisable, zygomatic implants are an effective alternative. Thanks to their anchorage in the zygomatic bone, which is dense and strong, these implants allow stable and long-lasting placement of dental restorations.

A distinctive feature of zygomatic implants is their much greater length, reaching 30-55 mm, which allows them to be embedded in the zygomatic bone, bypassing areas of atrophied jawbone. This allows patients to avoid more invasive procedures such as sinus lift or bone grafting. Zygomatic implants allow for quick rehabilitation, often allowing full restorations to be made in a short period of time, such as the “teeth in one day” method. This solution offers stability, aesthetics and functionality, restoring patients not only to a full smile, but also to the comfort of daily life. These procedures are performed in specialized clinics by experienced dental surgeons, which guarantees the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.

Zygomatic implants - questions and answers

Zygomatic implants are specialized dental implants designed for patients with severe bone loss in the upper jaw. They are anchored to the zygomatic bone (zygoma), which provides stable support for dental restorations.

Zygomatic implants are used in cases where bone loss in the upper jaw is so advanced that traditional implants are not possible. Such situations may arise from long-term lack of teeth, periodontal disease, trauma or failed previous implant procedures.

The number of implants depends on the type of denture and the patient’s individual conditions. Typically, 2-4 implants are required for a removable denture, while a fixed denture usually requires 4-6 implants per jaw.
